Miriam (USA: NC) (2007/06/25): This book was an easy read, with the transitions between past and present wonderfully written to make such a heavy topic easier to digest. I must admit that I sympathize with the mother though. It's not always easy living a life you never felt you were meant for. The reconciliation at the end seem too easy to me though. When you've held a grudge that long, it doesn't just disappear because it's time to wrap up the book. While I'd read it again in a bind, it's not one I'll go looking for ever again.
